In Memory Of TAYLOR DEE (Taylor Carroll)

TAYLOR DEE

In the words of Taylor Dee:

Taylor Dee, a Texas Country Artist. With her powerhouse vocals and team of songwriters, Taylor Dee took country music by storm. Taylor Dee was born in Garland, TX and grew up in a broken home, with her older brother Chad, and her mom. Things were very hard for her as a child. Taylor turned to music for healing. It became her safe place. She was very quiet and shy as a kid and just kept to herself journaling, writing poetry, and listening to all of her favorite artists. Some of which included, Janis Joplin, The Judds, Shania Twain, Pam Tillis, Conway Twitty, along with pop artists such as Christina Aguilera, Adele, and Jewel. Taylor Dee started her music career at the age 12 when she auditioned for All State Regional Choir and got accepted. She knew then that singing was exactly what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Taylor was in choir all through high school, and joined a variety band with her peers performing all over Dallas, TX including the Mayors Christmas party. She was also asked to sing the National Anthem at a playoff game in high school. When she graduated high school in 2005, Taylor joined her first band, Chasing Highways. She was determined to make a career in music. In 2009 she had her first child, Vayden, and put her career on hold for a few years, but still recorded demos and frequented any singing competition she could. Taylor Dee grew up in honky Tonks, as her dad took her around to every dance hall trying to grab attention of anyone who would listen. Taylor Dee auditioned for American Idol in 2009, and The Voice in 2015. Striking out again and again, Taylor Dee felt defeated and as if she was just not good enough. She almost gave up but landed a gig with a band in Boerne, TX called Loaded Revolver in 2017, after she had her daughter, River. Taylor got her fire back and remembered why she was supposed to perform and spread her message. Taylor Dee moved back home and had to leave her band after her mother lost her home to a fire in 2018. She was very lost and had no clue where or how to get started on her music in Dallas. With Gods grace, she met the very talented songwriter Chad Roland-(who worked as a staff writer on music row) at a bar in Royse City, TX, and Amy Johnson, when she was there performing an acoustic show. They began working together tirelessly and 8 short months later went to Nashville, Tennessee to record Taylor Dees first album. This was her dream since a little girl, and they did it! Taylor Dee released her first single, her title track, The Buzz in June of 2019 and later released her full album, The Buzz, in September of 2019! Her single has hit top 15 on the country charts in Canada and the UK. It also plays all of the world on major radio stations! “I am so proud of the record we have created. I have put everything I have, and every dollar to my name creating this record for myself and my fans. The pressure I felt to record something great, pushed me to the max and I cannot wait for the world to hear it.” -TD

Taylor Dee is an independent artist. Since the record has been released Taylor Dee has been touring all over Texas and Tennessee! She has played the big time honky Tonks, before the JMA Awards, Rodeos, private parties, and festivals! She has a 5 piece band, Shots Fired. They are coming to be known as the best band in the Dallas area. They bring tons of energy and songs that are different, yet still bringing back the real classic country.

Taylor Dee was nominated Best Female Vocalist of the Year in 2019 Josie Awards, and several of her songs are up for awards in 2020 for Best Songs Texas Country Music Association. She also has The Buzz featured on a compilation CD of the Greatest Texas Hits in 2019! Taylor Dees “Laying down the Law” was also voted Top 10 songs of 2019 on Pro Country!

Taylor won group of the year in 2020 at the Josie Music Awards, and is currently up for emerging female artist of the year and is performing at the Texas Internet Radio Awards in San Antonio, TX May 16, 2021. Taylor has had two songs hit the Top 100 Texas Charts in 2020 and 2021- Greener Grass, and Top Shelf Liquor.

Faith in her dream at times has been a struggle. It is a constant struggle that every touring musician battles: The rollercoaster of how live show attendance, record sales, and ticket count are the benchmark of how performers are judged in this business, and the toll the site of the audience can take on their heart each night. Naturally, doubt can enter ones mind in any given situation. But Taylor Dee holds on to faith and trusts the path God has chosen for her.
